My Berries Finalists in the Moreton Bay Region Business Excellence and Innovation Awards

It’s not often the My Berries Team gets to dress in their finest and head out for a glamorous awards ceremony – but last Friday, we got to do just that. We were humbled to be finalists in the Moreton Bay Region Business Excellence and Innovation Awards 2021 and delighted to be in such prestigious company. We were nominated in the inaugural Food and Agribusiness Excellence Award category for our work in sustainable food manufacturing. As you know that’s an issue that is close to our hearts and which drives our passion for producing high quality frozen berries from fruit that would otherwise be wasted.

Eatons Hill Hotel played host to this fourth annual awards ceremony and the excitement in the Grand Ballroom was electric. It was fantastic to be amongst so many like minded businesses. We pride ourselves on our work ethic and our passion for bringing you the very best service and product – and it was obvious on Friday night that we weren’t alone in our values. Fifty-eight finalists across twelve categories – all local businesses from the Moreton Bay Region (just north of Brisbane in sunny Queensland) – proudly took their seats and cheered with joy as each winner was announced. There were five businesses in our category, all of whom were equally deserving of their nomination, but there could only be one champion and that was local fruit growers Piñata Farms.

Our own Stuart McGruddy described what it felt like to be part of the awards program: “It was such an honour to be a finalist this year and to be recognised for our achievements. We have a great team at My Berries and we love what we do, so, we’ll continue to be innovative in our working practices and product development. We’re based in Caboolture, just one hour north of Brisbane in the heart of one of Australia’s largest berry growing regions where we source from our local farmers. It was a privilege to be appreciated within the greater Moreton Bay Region for our commitment to excellence, our product, our staff and of course, our wonderful customers.

We’ve achieved so much in the few short years we’ve been in business – from selling berries at farmers markets to processing, freezing and packing a range of berries and soft fruits which are sold in independent grocery stores throughout Australia and overseas. We’ve collaborated with well known Australian food manufactures and helped to put Moreton Bay well and truly on the map when we provided raspberries for Aussie icon - Arnott’s Moreton Bay Raspberry and Dark Choc Tim Tams.

All in all, the awards night was a great way to round off the year and we’re eagerly looking forward to our berry-bright future. Thank you for your continued support – we couldn’t do it without you!
